Young People’ refers to Children (and implicitly involves their families), Youth and Young Adults
The Sydney Central Coast Presbytery is committed to equipping young people to share, nurture and grow faith in ways that are tailored to them. The Presbytery Young Peoples Project is a vehicle for raising up leaders who are called to participate in and contribute to the engagement and discipleship of Young People.
Throughout the presbytery's region there are over 30 ministry agents; lay and ordained who are currently appointed to ministry roles with children, youth and young adults. Each of these ministry agents have teams of volunteers who they lead, and young people and communities who they influence. They are a valuable and scarce resource which needs 'connectedness', peer support, pastoral care and collaboration. PYPP will re-establish this vital pillar of 'connectedness'.
Relying on the Holy Spirit to guide, lead and inspire our young people in their various ministries. We seek to be moved and led by the Holy Spirit to discover, develop and encourage those called to young peoples ministry and to those they lead and influence.
The PYPP is committed to putting "hand to the plough"; to articulating purposeful and strategic direction and carrying out the necessary work. Purposeful direction provides the momentum and the operational aspects of ministry. It also "counts what counts", in order that ministry flourishes, multiplies and is sustained over the long haul.
